- How many times do you wash your face daily?
I try to stick to a pretty strict skincare regime so I wash and cleanse my face morning and evening. I have classic combination skin so it can be difficult to find a balance in routine between a one that will keep my skin hydrated but not too oily. So much of it is down to shopping for your skin type.
- What is your current facial wash?
I love the Pixi Glow mud Cleanser, it has a really gentle exfoliate and feels like it does a really deep clean without being too abrasive. I keep some in the shower and do a gentle wash morning or evening. Leaves my skin soft and glowing.
- Do you exfoliate?
I tend not to use anything too abrasive on my face because I’m afraid to age prematurely, but the Pixi glow mud cleanser helps get deeper pores without shredding my skin.
- What brand do you use?
I have tried and tested a lot of skincare brands over the past few years and I actually think it’s more about shopping for your skin type then using any one brand. My daily skin care routine currently consists of products by Pixi, Garnier and Boots
- What moisturiser do you use?
I use the Boots Time delay Day and Night cream, it is hydrating, affordable, contains a good SPF and the tub is really pretty on my dressing table.
- Do you have freckles?
When I was younger you would be forgiven for thinking I was really tanned because of the mass of freckles across my face. Now I’m older I tend to get them more on my shoulders. But as an Irish girl, I definitely have a good few dotted across my face.
- Do you use eye cream?
Again as part of my fear of ageing I use the Boots time delay Wrinkle reduce eye cream as the last step in my morning and evening skincare regime.
- What foundation do you use?
I have a few favourite foundations, Drugstore I would say the Rimmel Lasting Finish is my go-to for buildability and lasting power. In Summer though I prefer a lighter base and use the Clinique Chubby in the Nude foundation stick, it is better for hot weather but still provides good coverage
- How about concealer?
I don’t really use concealer for blemish coverage as the only thing on my face marks wise are beauty marks and freckles which I choose to embrace not cover. For under eye concealer though you cannot beat the Collection Lasting Perfection, a bargain and a holy grail item for so many of us
- Do you know your undertone colour?
…… shakes head in shame and retires from blogging life.
Is ghostly pale an undertone?
11. What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I love the look of a falsie but I couldn’t wear them every day, mainly because it takes me about an hour to get them both on. There are a couple falsie mistakes that people can make that make me anxious but for the most part, I think they are stunning and I wish I were better at them.
- What brand of mascara do you use?
Does anyone use just one Mascara? But my go-to currently is the Barry M mascaras I’ve blogged about before. I tend to use more than one mascara a day to receive my eyelash look and these ones offer pretty much everything a girl could ever want, volume, curl, length, a lack of ridiculous clumps and all for only £4.99
- Do you use a makeup base/primer for the eyes?
I use the NYX Makeup eyeshadow base – High definition for two reasons, one it gives you way better pigmentation for colour payoff and two it helps your eye look last longer.
- For the face?
On a day to day basis, there are a couple different primers that I use depending on the activity or look of the day. My go-to Primer is the Rimmel Match Perfection Fix and Perfect as it stops my look from getting shiny as the day goes on. On summer days or lighter coverage days, I use a face sunblock as a base, it allows me to build my makeup and provides essential SPF protection
- What is your favourite eyeshadow?
Ohh this is such a hard question! I have been on the waitlist for Morphe palettes for a ridiculous amount of time now and my go-to shadows now are the Sleek palettes that are great for so many reasons. But if you’re asking for just one shade it has to be Sassy the e.l.f. mineral shadow, I love the name, the colour and the application.
- Do you use a pencil or liquid eyeliner?
I am a liquid girl, I don’t have the gentle touch required for a pencil, though I can be persuaded to a felt tip liner upon occasion.
- Do you use mineral makeup?
I love mineral make up for Blush, contour, highlight but for anything coverage, I like to depend on liquid and crème products as I find them a little more trustworthy. Although I do always set my liquid base with a mineral powder.
- What is your favourite lipstick?
Well if you know me you know it’s going to be MAC and I have quite the collection to choose from, I love more neutral brown tones and I think I’m going to throw it back to my first ever MAC lip Cherish, a gorgeous light brown in a crème sheen finish.
- How about lip gloss
I’m not so much into lip gloss but I am joining the liquid lipstick revolution, for these, it has to be the NYX lingerie liquid lip and of these, I would say my favourite shade is Bedtime flirt.
- What is your favourite blush
I don’t like too heavy a blush look, but for a subtle rosy look I like the L’Oreal Perfection True Match in the shade Blush Peach
- Do you buy your makeup on eBay?
I buy so much on Ebay from shoes to clothes to homeware to gadgets. But I’m so afraid to buy makeup, I’m not a brand snob and if a knock off looks like a mulberry purse I’m gonna buy it in three colours despite it’s being fake. But with makeup I think it’s too big a risk, it might be a big saving but you have no idea what chemicals have been put in to make it look the same. I spend far too much on skincare to bring myself out in a rash from a discounted eye shadow palette.
- Name a makeup crime that you hate?
I think this is difficult from person to person because what works for me might not work for you. But I would just say that when you think you’ve blended enough, blend some more.
- Which celebrity always has great makeup?
RuPaul is makeup goals all day every day.
- Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
I don’t do it that often because I actually really enjoy doing my makeup, but if I’m in a rush or feeling lazy I don’t mind going out au natural.
- In your opinion, what is the best makeup line?
*thinks for a long long long long time* I have different favourite brands for different product types. But if I think about the brand I own the most diverse range of products for it is probably NYX cosmetics, they are exciting but affordable, lovely packaging and I own things from their face, lips and eyes range.
